Cultural Pride Sharing Events

Kaden Cardinal

On Friday, we hosted our first 'Cultural Pride Sharing' virtual event for our Truth and Reconciliation week! Our students, their families, and community members were all invited to join and share their knowledge, language, stories, and traditions.

Kaden Cardinal, a grade four student from Cold Lake, shared a photo slideshow of him and his family hunting, processing and skinning a moose, and of cultural events in their community! Kaden paired the song 'Remember Me' by Fawn Wood with his photo slideshow. The slideshow presentation was so wonderful, and we were so honored that you shared them with us! Thank you so much, Kaden!

Marian Wanderingspirit-Kaskamin

On Friday, we hosted our first 'Cultural Pride Sharing' virtual event for our Truth and Reconciliation week! Our students, their families, and community members were all invited to join and share their knowledge, language, stories, and traditions.

Marian Wanderingspirit-Kaskamin lives in Fort Chipewyan, and she is a grade four student in our Online School. Marian performed an amazing Jingle dance for us all, which we were all so excited to watch! Marian answered all of our students and staff questions about how she learned how to dance, and all about her regalia! Marian also shared all of her different regalia that were all hand sewn by her mother, Erin! Thank you so much for sharing and dancing for us all, Marian! We were so honoured to watch you Jingle dance, and learn more about your culture!
